Al Yang, the director behind Silent Hill f, has posted on Twitter that he’s interesting in hearing what fans think the ‘f’ stands for in the game’s title.
As expected fans have replied with a wide array of ideas including serious offerings such as flower, festival, forbidden, fear, faith and fungus, to more comical interpretations such has Fortnite, Florida and finally-a-good-one. Personally I’m stumped as to what it could stand for, but since this is Silent Hill, it could be anything, really.
Silent Hill f is still shrouded in mystery since its announcement back in October 2022 at a special Konami event for the franchise. The game is one of many new entries in the popular psychological horror franchise, among which also includes Silent Hill 2 Remake, Silent Hill Townfall and Silent Hill
Silent Hill f is set in Japan during the 1960s, marking a huge departure for the series as the previous games took place during the past couple of decades. Quite how it ties in with the town itself is unknown right now, but it’s worth remembering that Silent Hill games have not always taken place entirely in the town (Silent Hill 3 and Silent Hill Homecoming both featured areas beyond the foggy streets).
