SingStar has been touring round the UK to capture the imagination of gamers and give them an experience of the latest songfest.
Hot on the heels of the finale of popular television reality show, The X Factor, SingStar has been released on PS3, complete with 20 tracks and the facility to download many more through SingStore.
SCE UK has taken the game on a tour through train stations, shopping centres and universities to spread the knowledge of the game and encourage people to have a go.
And if that wasn’t enough, the final leg of the tour was at The o2 Arena in London.
The SCE UK marketing team said: "We decided to feature SingStar in this last pinnacle venue as we felt the game was a natural fit in the environment of the O2 Arena."
Over 90,000 people showed up to experience the karaoke style console game, which has now jumped up to 8th in the UK PS3 sales charts.
SCE UK has also used the tour to try and promote the PS3’s non-gaming functionalities.
"Neighbouring retailers were very pleased with the tour and reported a huge increase in unit sales since our arrival. And we have converted a lot of consumers who were unaware of the capabilities of PS3 and found other reasons to buy”, said the company.
