It should come as no surprise that one of the best ways to turn people on to a new intellectual property prior to its release is through a free demo. Speaking with Develop about the upcoming FPS Singularity, producer Kekoa Lee-Creel stated Activision views the demo as “absolutely critical” to the game’s success.
In a sea of popular shooters, especially sequels, Singularity is banking on a good demo to win over gamers. One of the unique aspects of Singularity, from Raven Software, is the Time Manipulation Device — a gadget that ages enemies and environmental objects.
“We’re definitely on track to release a demo,” Lee-Creel stated, “that’s absolutely critical. Singularity plays well; the conventional weapons feel good, the TMD (Time Manipulation Device) feels really natural being mapped to the shoulder buttons. It’s so hard to convey how a game feels, but I have confidence that once we can cross that threshold I think we’re good.”
Singularity is set for a fall release on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
