Skyrim makes strong Japanese debut

Critically acclaimed RPG The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has debuted at number four on the Japanese software charts.

Bethesda’s compelling fantasy romp sold 75,865 units on PlayStation 3, beating out its Xbox 360 counterpart, which landed at nine with 37,037 units flogged.

The performance is pretty impressive considering the 3DS has made quite an impact in the Land of the Rising Sun as of late, with Monster Hunter Tri G, Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land occupying the top three.
