Skyrim Special Edition gameplay shows off dazzling PS4 graphics

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition has received 16 minutes worth of dazzling new gameplay on PlayStation 4, thanks to YouTube channel FudgeMuppet.

The video is comprised entirely of gameplay and is free of any commentary, offering a tantalizing glimpse at the likes of Solitude, Riften, Whiterun, Winterhold, Dawnstar, and many more of the game’s iconic locations.

Skyrim Special Edition is scheduled for release on October 28, 2016 for PS4, PC, and Xbox One. The bundle features the original version of the critically acclaimed fantasy-RPG in addition to all three expansion packs, plus fully enhanced visuals including improved lightning, textures, and character models.

Originally released in November 2011 for PS3, PC, and Xbox 360, Skyrim achieved critical and commercial success, selling over 20 million copies worldwide and scooping up numerous ‘Game of the Year’ accolades. The PS3 version was noted for suffering from various technical issues at launch, although these were later iron out via patches. 

Rumors of The Elder Scrolls 6 have started doing the rounds following the launch of Fallout 4, as Bethesda typically alternates between franchises. However, the studio has confirmed that while a new Elder Scrolls will happen at some point, it isn’t currently in production
