Sledgehammer developing the ‘next Call of Duty game’

A fresh job listing for Sledgehammer Games has given the clearest indication yet that it’s working on an all-new entry in the Call of Duty franchise.

The posting popped up on January 5 and advertises for a community manager gig within the studio, reading:

"Would you like the chance to build and drive the studio community management effort for Sledgehammer and the next Call of Duty game? If so then we want to hear from you!"

Sledgehammer was initially thought to be making a third-person outing in the venerable franchise, though the developer is now firmly believed to be chiselling away on a FPS effort.

Quite what we’ll get come November is anyone’s guess, with Internet murmurs pointing from everything to a space-bound Call of Duty to Modern Warfare 3. Stay tuned.
