Sleeping Dogs dev staffing up for next-gen title

The developer behind last year’s hit open-world action title Sleeping Dogs is hiring for an unannounced next-generation console project.

United Front Games’ description for a ‘Network/Multiplayer programmer’ reads:

"We are looking for an experienced network programmer to work with our online team to develop the multiplayer features of our next gen console title.”

Interestingly, the post has since been tweaked to remove ‘next-gen,’ though is still visible via Google Cache.

The job post added: "The ideal candidate will also have been credited on several console titles, worked with multiplayer middleware packages, and have experience with state replication, interpolation, bandwidth optimization, and knowledge of common multiplayer features such as matchmaking, invites, game lobbies, leader boards, stats, etc.”

No mention of a sequel to Sleeping Dogs has been doing the rounds, though given the success of the original it’s certainly a possibility.
