City Interactive has confirmed a March 12, 2013 release date for its long-delayed shooter, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2.
The FPS was originally due for release in August 2012 before being shoved back a further two months. It was then delayed until January 2013 before finally being handed a March release date.
A reason for the delay was not given, however.
March is quite a packed month for new releases, with the likes of Tomb Raider, Gears of War: Judgement and Sim City all due out, so the game will face some stiff competition.
Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 sees players controlling Captain Cole Anderson as he sneaks through urban warzones and lush jungles picking off foes with alarming precision. The game takes advantage of CryEngine 3 and sees a wealth of improvements over its critically-panned predecessor.
Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 will be released for PlayStation 3, PC, Xbox 360, Wii U and PlayStation Vita.
