The president of Sony has revealed that the hardware manufacturer aims to increase its acquisitions budget by 20% during the next financial year.
Hiroki Totoki confirmed the news overnight during Sony’s latest financial results, in which the format holder announced global PS5 shipments have reached over 38 million units. In fact, the three-month period ended March 31, 2023 was the biggest for any video game hardware to date.
Speaking of acquisitions, Sony has been busy snapping up a various studios over the past year, the most recent being Firewalk Studios.
