Sony is bringing Japanese and Western developers to Taiwan to offer assistance and tech support to developers who wish to work on PS3 titles there. The Taiwanese government is offering subsidies to those who take Sony up on the offer.
According to a Gamasutra translation of a press conference posted on Japanese site Nikkei, Sony is hoping to entice Taiwanese companies and develop a strong core of developers to make PS3 games for Taiwan and mainland China. Currently, China’s gaming market is mostly comprised of online PC titles, especially MMOs.
Sony also is having official lectures at Tatung University, a technology institute.
