Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced today that it is partnering with four organisations to help support black communities that are tackling spreading addressing racial inequality, education issues, and economic empowerment.
These organisations include Black Girls CODE, The Hidden Genius Project, Gameheads, and Black In Games (BIG). Sony committed $1 million back in June to help solve the issues mentioned above and the company’s aim now is to “work with these partners to evoke long-lasting change by improving access to the tech and gaming industry and building a better structure for Black voices to be heard.”
Later on, in the blog post which announced the news, Sony stated that these partners are “a part of SIE’s commitment to driving long-term change to achieve social justice and racial equality.” New partnerships will be announced in the future.
This is great news and continues the company’s drive to ensure everyone gets to make and play games in a fair and equal way.
