Sony announces PS Vita Slim U.K. release date and price

The PlayStation Vita Slim will arrive in the U.K. on February 7, Sony has announced.

Officially known as the PCH-2000, the revamped handheld gaming device will launch for an estimated retail price of £180.

Sony originally announced the PS Vita Slim in Japan prior to the Tokyo Game Show last September, and it was released in the region shortly afterwards.

Aside clocking in lighter and thinner than its predecessor, the PS Vita Slim replaces the original OLED screen with a LCD version. It also boasts 1GB storage and improved battery life.

Sony intends to replace the original PS Vita with its slimmer cousin, with the OLED version effectively being phased out.
