It is going on four years now that the PlayStation Portable has been available on the market, and it appears Sony is finally taking some steps to flesh out its portable gaming device in the form of a specialised keyboard accessory.
For years now, third party companies have endeavoured to release a keyboard for the PSP to help expand and facilitate various features, such as surfing the Internet. However, like many third party attempts, nearly none came close to perfecting it.
Enter Sony, finally coming to the conclusion that they need to release a first party keyboard for the handheld to help gamers out when it comes to typing on the PSP, which can take quite some time. They offered no details about the keyboard or what it will look like, other than they are creating the device, which will be released in mid 2009 – five years after the release of the system.
"We’re looking at several designs, but can’t tell you anything more specific," a company representative stated.
Hopefully we can get the keyboard a bit earlier, but if not, perhaps we could catch an early glimpse of it at CES 2009?
Stay tuned for more details as they break.
