Bigbig, the studio behind quirky PlayStation Vita title Little Deviants, has shut up shop, Sony has confirmed to Develop.
In addition, the console maker is also restructuring its Cambridge division, with the studio – now likely in a downsized capacity – teaming with Guerrilla Games to produce Killzone titles for the PS Vita.
However, it remains unknown as to how many employees were made redundant as a result of the cuts.
Sony issued a statement on the decision, commenting, “We have reviewed and assessed all current projects and plans for the short and medium term and have decided to make some changes to European studios.”
“As a result of this, there will be a realignment of resource within the studio to ensure that the studio is in the best position to achieve this.”
Speaking of Bigbig, Sony described the team as an “important part of SCE Worldwide Studios” since joining the company in 2007, though added the decision to close the studio would help it focus “on other studios that are currently working on exciting new projects.”
