Sony Confirms Departure Of Sucker Punch Productions Co-Founder Brian Fleming

Brian Fleming, co-founder of Ghost of Yotei developer Sucker Punch Productions, is leaving the company after 28 years with the developer, with Jason Connell and Adrian Bentley heading up the company in his wake.

Speaking in a press release today, Sony Interactive Entertainment comment:

Over the past year, Brian has worked closely with PlayStation Studios to ensure that Sucker Punch was in the best hands moving forward with a strong foundation for the studio’s continued success. Starting January 1, longtime creative and technical leaders Jason Connell and Adrian Bentley will step into new roles as studio heads, continuing to guide the team’s focus on ambitious, character-driven experiences that define PlayStation Studios.

Nate Fox will remain in his position as co-creative director of Sucker Punch Productions, which “remains dedicated to crafting new adventures that capture the imagination of players everywhere.”

This year was a major milestone for Sucker Punch Productions as it celebrated its 30th anniversary, as well as launching Ghost of Yotei, the follow-up to 2020’s critically acclaimed Ghost of Tsushima. Back in October, Fleming told VGC that the studio will remain a single-project studio, although hasn’t gone into details on what’s next for the company.
