In an interview with VR-Zone, Sony’s UK Managing Director Fergal Gara offered more information about how the price will be determined to upgrade a PlayStation 3 game to its PlayStation 4 counterpart.
“It will be down to the publisher to decide, that mechanism doesn’t affect us, because we’re not publishing any titles across both platforms. It’s over to the EAs, the Activisions, and the Ubisofts to go and decide what the differential is to trade up.”
Gara went on to say that he hopes the fees will be fairly priced and that they should not be substantial, but at no point did he reveal any actual costs people might expect to pay.
The only current example gamers have to go on is that Activision has stated that Call of Duty: Ghosts will have a ten dollar upgrade fee.
