Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced during its financial results for the three-month period ended March 31, 2026 that PS5 has now shipped 93.7 million units worldwide.
The console moved 1.5 million units during the three-month, which is down 0.9 million over the same period last year. Meanwhile, the format holder announced that PlayStation Network reached 125 million monthly active users as of March 31, 2026, an increase of one million over the previous fiscal year. The PS5 and PS4 sold a combined total of 74.6 million units of software during the quarter, which is down 1.5 million compared to the same period last year.
“Compared to the fiscal year 25 operating income results excluding one-time items, the fiscal year 2026 operating income forecast is essentially flat year-on-year, which is due to the incorporation of an increase in investments for the next-generation platform. Excluding these factors, profit generated by our current business is expected to grow steadily at a double-digit rate,” said Sony.
The PS5 launched in November 2020 during the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, which resulting in numerous stock shortages that would last nearly two years.
