Sony Computer Entertainment America today slammed the delay-hammer down on disaster-ridden racer MotorStorm Apocalypse in North America.
"Similar to news already issued from our Japanese and European territories, SCEA can confirm that we are officially delaying release of MotorStorm Apocalypse from its scheduled April 12th date," wrote SCEA Director of Product Marketing Anthony Crouts on the U.S. PlayStation Blog. "We will provide more information regarding release timing at a later date."
As Crouts said, Sony already delayed the release of Apocalypse in Europe and Japan. The game is complete, but Sony sensitively decided to hold back Evolution Studios’ latest racer following the deadly natural disasters — an 8.9 maginitude earthquake followed by a viscious tsunami — that struck Japan on Friday, March 11, 2011.
Thousands have lost their lives in what Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan called Japan’s worst crisis since World War II. We here at PSU strongly encourage you to donate whatever you can to assist the people of Japan in this turbulent time. The Red Cross is accepting donations via its website, as are other organizations like GlobalGiving, Save The Children Federation, and International Medical Corps.
