Sony‘s Hideaki Nishino has revealed that the format holder is looking to continue making content available to people who don’t traditionally play video games, something which we’ve already seen lately with the likes of HBO’s The Last of Us series and other endeavours.
It’s important that people who don’t play games have access to our content, and we hope to use movies and dramas as an opportunity to make people want to try PlayStation games. The Last of Us series’ sales increased when the live-action-drama version was airing.
The Last of Us HBO aired earlier this year and was a huge success, and production on the second series of the series is set to begin in February 2024.
Elsewhere, in the same interview, Nishino-san revealed that Sony is ready to ‘attack‘ this holiday season with the PS5, thanks to the arrival of new stock and the release of the PS5 Slim and the PS Portal.
