Sony Interactive Entertainment has revealed that it is donating $5 million to the ongoing relief for the Los Angeles wildfires.
Speaking in a statement on social media, Hiroki Totoki (President and COO) and Kenichiro Yoshida (Chairman and CEO) had the following to say:
Los Angeles has been the home of our entertainment businesses for more than 35 years. We will continue work with our local business leadership to determine how best Sony group can support relief and recovery efforts in the days ahead.

The wildfires have devastated parts of the city with fires still burning, and it is now being reported that “close to hurricane force’ winds are likely to further spread the blaze in the coming days. There have been at least 24 fatalities so far as a result of the fires, with 23 people now missing and 12,401 structures destroyed.
Sony is one of many major companies who are donating to the relief effort, including Amazon, Netflix, NBCUniversal owner Comcast, who have contributed $10 million each, and Warner Bros Discovery, who has donated $15 million.
