Sony Is Reportedly Rolling Out The New PS5 Welcome Hub In Europe

Sony Interactive Entertainment has reportedly starting its staggered rollout of the new PS5 Welcome Hub, which was previously only available in North America and was introduced in the latest PS5 firmware update.

A number of users on Reddit and ResetEra have claimed that select European regions have started seeing the Welcome Hub available for PS5 owners. At the time of writing, the UK hasn’t seen the Welcome Hub added yet, but it’s only a matter of time at this point.

In case you missed it, here’s some of the key details of the PS5’s Welcome Hub, as outlined by Sony in the latest system patch notes:

The Welcome hub is now available in the home screen. For users in North America, this enhancement replaces the Explore hub.

  • You can customize the Welcome hub with widgets and backgrounds.
  • Widgets display information like storage, battery levels, online friends, and more.
  • Widgets can be added, removed, resized, and moved one by one. You can also choose from preset widget layouts based on your preferences.

We’re just about to enter the crucial holiday season once again, and this year is pretty big for Sony, as it’s set to launch the new PS5 Pro in early November. The $699.99/£699.99 system is far more powerful than the standard PS5, offering various improvements to compatible titles including higher frame rates and greater visual fidelity.
