Sony executive Tsuyoshi Kodera, who spearheaded many of the company’s online PlayStation services, has announced that he is taking up a new role with the corporation on April 1.
Kodera-san will leave the Interactive Entertainment division at Sony at the end of the current financial year, having been with SIE’s network team for over ten years now, where he served a senior vice president. In 2013, he was appointed the role of Sony Network Entertainment president.
Under his watch, Sony’s online division rolled out a number of key services including the revamped PlayStation Store, PlayStation Plus, PlayStation Now, and PlayStation Video and Music.

It’s also worth remembering that Kodera for short time assumed the role of CEO and president of SIE after Andrew House’s departure in late 2017, with Jim Ryan ultimately making over the position.
Kodera has more than 30 years behind him at Sony in total.
