PlayStation Now requires an Internet connection of 5MB/s in order to facilitate a “good experience” for the cloud streaming service, Sony has said.
Speaking on the U.S. PlayStation Blog, Sid Shuman, Social Media Manage for Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA), noted that there will be some “minor concessions” when it comes to visuals, such as compression artefacts attributed to gameplay streaming.
Shuman noted that the most important thing to consider is that a 5MB/s connection is needed to enjoy a “good experience for most games.” As you’d expect, gamers will need a DualShock 3 in order to play PlayStation 3 games streamed from the cloud on a Bravia.
PlayStation Now was unveiled during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this week, and will be rolled out across North America this summer. A beta for the service will commence at the end of the month.
Sadly, European gamers are being left in the dark as to when they can expect the service in PAL regions.
