Sony Reveals Classic PlayStation Console Themes Are Leaving Tomorrow, But It’s Working To Bring Them Back

Sony Interactive Entertainment has revealed in a post on X that the classic PS1, PS2, PS3, and PS4 console themes that were released last year to celebrate PlayStation’s 30th anniversary are being pulled tomorrow. However, it’s not all bad news, as the format holder confirmed it is working to bring them back at a later date.

Unsurprisingly, Sony revealed that there was a hugely positive response to the themes, hence why it is working to restore them in the coming months. Here’s the full statement:

Thank you for the fantastic response to the classic PlayStation, PS2, PS3, and PS4 limited-time console themes, which will be leaving tomorrow. Due to the positive response on these 4 themes, we’re doing some work behind the scenes to bring these special designs back in the months ahead.

Sony added that there’s no plans to create any additional themes right now, but is still “excited to keep celebrating’ PlayStation’s legacy hardware with fans.
