Sony survey mentions Gran Turismo for PS Vita

A PlayStation Vita instalment in Sony’s venerable Gran Turismo franchise has been spotted on a recent consumer survey.

Apparently, the game in question will be a handheld version of GT5, which hit PlayStation 3 back in November 2010.

It reads: “You told us earlier how interested you would be in buying the PS Vita version of the latest Gran Turismo game.”

“Knowing that you might be able to get a discount on the PS3 version of the game, how interested are you now in the PS Vita version?”

The survey goes on to mention several cross-platform specific offers for PlayStation Plus subscribers, such as bagging a free copy of a PS3 game after buying its PS Vita counterpart (and vice versa).

"Imagine that as part of PlayStation Plus, every time you bought a game on either PS3 or PS Vita, you would be entitled to get the game on the other console absolutely free. So, if you bought Resistance on PS Vita, you could download Resistance on PS3 for free. Or if you got FIFA on PS3, you could download the PS Vita version for free."

Sony has yet to formally announce a Gran Turismo game for PS Vita, though it’d be an obvious extension to the handheld’s growing library of software. Developer Polyphony Digital is believed to be working on the sixth entry in the franchise, though for what format remains unknown.

Let’s just hope a new GT game doesn’t take over half a decade to arrive, eh?
