Sony’s Vice President of Third-Party Relations for PlayStation, Adam Boyes, has announced he’s leaving the company to resume his career in games development.
"After an incredible journey here at PlayStation, I’ve made the very hard decision to return to the world of game development!” Boyes said in a statement on Twitter.
Boyes’ departure was met with a number of well-wishes from various industry veterans, including Microsoft’s Phil Spencer, who wrote: "Best of luck in your new endeavors my friend. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the next step in your career."
Prior to joining Sony in 2012, Boyes worked for Capcom as direction of production, and also enjoyed stints at various companies including Electronic Arts, Midway, and Next Level Games.
PlayStation gamers will most probably best remember Boyes as the exuberant fellow who introduced the Final Fantasy VII Remake and Shenmue III at E3 2015. He also popped up at the PlayStation Experience alongside the likes of Shawn Layden and Gio Corsi.
PSU wishes Boyes the very best in his future endeavours.
