PlayStation big cheese Hermen Hulst recently caught a lot of attention online over the weekend after posting a video of his PS5 setup, which curiously involved placing the console in an upside-down position.
Hulst, who previously headed up Killzone and Horizon Zero Dawn developer Guerrilla Games, promptly deleted the post after someone pointed out the console’s unusual setup. He later re-uploaded the video, albeit with the PS5 cropped out.

The PS5 comes with a stand that allows you to place the console vertically or horizontally, although regardless of how you position it the disc drive should be at the bottom. That is, if you’re using the standard version and not the Digital-Only Edition, naturally.

Hulst’s video generated a lot of interest on forums, with one user on ResetEra commenting:
I think the biggest design flaw of the PS5, and the single most obvious tell that it was such an afterthought (not counting aesthetics) is the fact that, unless you’re eye-level or above eye-level to the PS5, the ‘lip’ pretty much makes it impossible to put a disc in.
