Sony has managed to break Nintendo’s epic 33-month hardware streak that the company enjoyed with Nintendo Switch, as PS5 came out on top as the best-selling console in the US for the month of September 2021.
The Nintendo Switch has been the top-selling hardware unit in the US since December 2018, with the PS4 being the last console to top the hybrid platform back in November 2018. So, that’s pretty big deal for Sony to say the least.
Furthermore, Sony’s latest home console is the best-selling hardware platform of the year in terms of year-to-date dollars, although the Switch leads in terms of units sold.
