Sony has revealed that its “surprise” sequel is SOCOM 4, coming exclusively to the PlayStation 3 this fall. There aren’t a great deal of details available at this time, but here is what we know: there is a militant revolutionary that has unexpectedly seized control in a South Asian country. You mission, as the Ops Com, is to command an elite five-man squad and stop the aggressor’s agenda. You’ll get six days to complete this task – fighting in hostile jungles and urban environments against an army of rebels.
Zipper Interactive is developing the sequel, and after its success with MAG, you can expect killer multiplayer in SOCOM 4. Look for 32-person multiplayer modes that boast even more Special Forces units than before.
You can watch the trailer on Spike TV tonight at 12:30 a.m. EST/PST.
Zipper wanted to make sure MAG fans know that even though SOCOM 4 will get an enormous amount of attention, the company has not turned its back on MAG. The studio is fully supporting MAG.
