According to a recent article by Variety, Alfred Molina has signed on to appear in Disney’s forthcoming movie adaptation of Prince of Persia.
Molina, who is perhaps best known as his role as Dr. Octopus in movie sequel Spider-Man 2, is set to play the role of Sheik Amar, joining Jack Gyllenhaal (the Prince), Gemma Arteron (Tamina) and Ben Kingsley (role unknown)
Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, the film is scheduled to commence filming in both the UK and Morocco next month.
Molina made his film debut in the early 1980s with Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, and later went on to appear in movies such as Not Without My Daughter, Chocolat, Frida and The Da Vinci Code.
