Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Rayman Legends fail to meet sales targets

Ubisoft has revealed that Splinter Cell: Blacklist and Rayman Legends have both failed to meet their sales targets.

News comes following an investors conference call earlier today, and follows on the heels of delays for both Watch Dogs and The Crew.

“As we have said we have experienced lower sales than we anticipated when we gave our targets,” commented Alain Martinez, Ubisoft’s CFO. “Already released games such as Splinter Cell, Rayman and others.”

Ubisoft attributes lower-than-expected sales to the fact punters are reluctant to fork out for new games ahead of the release of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It remains unknown the extent to which both games have underperformed, however.

Watch Dog was delayed into spring 2014 yesterday, while The Crew suffered a puncture and won’t get on the road until Q3 2014.
