Split Fiction Is Getting A Movie Adaptation As Bidding War Kicks Off For The Film Rights

Split Fiction, the critically acclaimed co-op outing from Hazelight Studios, looks set to receive the movie treatment, according to a report on Variety.

Citing sources at the Game Developers Conference this week, the site has learned that Story Kitchen is putting together a package that includes the cast, writers and director, while a bidding war has kicked off in Hollywood to obtain rights to the movie. Variety notes that Hazelight Studios and Story Kitchen did not offer comment when requested.

Split Fiction was released earlier this month for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, and sold over two million copies in one week. You can read our full review of the game here.

Split Fiction features two writers, Mio and Zoe, who specialised in science fiction and fantasy, respectively, as they are hooked up to a machine and end up trapped in their own creative endeavours. As such, the pair must work together to escape with their memories in-tact, relying on unique abilities to help them overcome various challenges while navigating worlds inspired by their works.
