Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 continues the series’ trend of featuring numerous Easter eggs based on popular culture, although one particular reference – SpongeBob SquarePants – is locked behind the Deluxe Edition of the game, which retails for $69.99/£59.99.
The original versions of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4 featured a wealth of Easter eggs, many of which didn’t make their way into this remaster. However, the game still features some references to pop culture, in particular Nickelodeon franchises.
The aforementioned SpongeBob SquarePants reference can be found on the Skater Island stage, but visiting the area without the Deluxe Edition will find all references to the character missing, meaning you have to buy this version to see it. Other pop culture heavyweights seen in the game include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles; Michelangelo is a playable character, while the Movie Studio stage features a Turtles Lair.

Last week it was reported by VGC that the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skate 3 + 4 soundtrack features only 10 tracks from the original releases. Back in March, Tony Hawk himself revealed that he had made changes to the soundtrack, with Alien Ant Farm one of the bands that are no longer featured.
Elsewhere, the character of Officer Dick, played by actor and musician Jack Black, is returning for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, and is joined by his English counterpart, Constable Richard.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 Remastered is out now for PS5, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.
