Square Enix’s Yoshinori Kitase has admitted that the Japanese software giant may end up developing yet more additions to the Final Fantasy VII universe, despite the fact the release Advent Children Complete on Blu-ray was supposed to signal the end of any FFVII-related productions.
"In Japan, the Blu-ray version of Advent Children has just been released," Kitase told IGN. "That’s meant to make a mark to end all of these productions. But, all these games of FFVII have just been spawned off the cuff with small ideas; one idea just turns into another."
"In this sense, there’s a possibility we might end up creating more FFVII games in the future."
Final Fantasy VII PS3 remake anyone? Probably not. Should any further FFVII projects arise, expect it to be something along the lines of Dissida: Final Fantasy or Crisis Core. Still, we’re keeping our fingers crossed.
