Square Enix isn’t holding anything back at E3 next week. As expected, Square Enix will showcase Final Fantasy XIII for the PlayStation 3 and Dissidia Final Fantasy for the PlayStation Portable. But the company has more up its sleeve, as it plans to show off two new games: NIER, an action-adventure game, and Front Mission Evolved, a new third-person shooter.
NIER is the latest action-adventure game from Square Enix. Developed by cavia, the game is set in a “crumbling world plagued by disease and dark, unrecognizable creatures,” according to a statement from Square. You’ll play the role of NIER and follow his journey to discover a cure for his daughter, who is infected with the Black Scrawl virus.
The game is set for release in 2010 on the PS3 and Xbox 360. An official NIER website launched moments ago.
Square’s other new game, Front Mission Evolved, developed by Double Helix Games, brings the classic mech Front Mission series to an action-packed third-person shooter. You’ll get full control of a massive humanoid war machine, the wanzer. The game promises for some intense battles with its online multiplayer.
The game will be available on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. No release date is available at this time, but check out its website for more info.
