Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, the continuation of Square Enix’s trilogy remaking of Final Fantasy VII will arrive on PS5 on February 29, 2024, it was revealed during today’s State Of Play event.
The release date came following a brand new trailer, showcasing more gameplay and small snippets of story moments that players can look forward to.
Rebirth’s creative director Tetsuya Nomura added that this trailer is intended to “show the great variety in the game world,” which it most certainly does. He also added that it’ll be playable for those in attendance at Tokyo Game Show 2023, so it’s likely we’ll learn a lot more about the game while TGS 2023 runs next week.

Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth has been a highly anticipated release for fans, though considering recent news around Square Enix it’s likely that no one is as excited as Square Enix is.
Following a poor sales outing for Final Fantasy XVI, Square Enix lost nearly $2 billion in market value, and a massive release from Rebirth could be the shot-in-the-arm the company needs to get investors back on its side.
