Square trademark hints at Kane & Lynch 3

Fresh chatter on a possible third entry in the Kane & Lynch franchise has reared its head today, after a Square Enix trademark titled ‘Sleeping Dogs’ was spotted by NeoGAF.

Why the link to Kane and Lynch? Well, 2010’s Kane & Lynch 2 just happened to be subtitled ‘Dog Days,’ and while this doesn’t at all confirm the existence of a third game, developer IO has said we haven’t seen the last of the duo.

This isn’t the first time evidence has cropped up hinting at Kane & Lynch 3 either. Back in September 2011, a job listing called for a senior multiplayer programmer to work on tech that “lays the foundation for a yet unannounced 3rd person game with strong cooperative multiplayer elements.”

Kane & Lynch 2 didn’t sit too well with some critics, with the game receiving a mixed bag of reviews at launch. Then again, IO always likened the series to marmite, in the sense you either love it or hate it.

With that said, would you like to see a third game, PSU readers? Let us know in the comments section below.
