Square Enix has blown the cobwebs off a fresh instalment in the long-running Tomb Raider franchise.
Known simply as Tomb Raider and currently in the works at Crystal Dynamics, the eponymous adventure stars a young and inexperienced Lara Croft as she finds herself shipwrecked on a mysterious Island. Sound familiar? It should do – rumors of this very setting have been doing the rounds for quite some time now.
The game itself will get a full reveal in the next issue of Game Informer, as previously reported. No platforms or a release date have been mentioned at this stage.
“Forget everything you knew about Tomb Raider,” commented Crystal Dynamics boss, Darrell Gallagher. “This is an origins story that creates Lara Croft and takes her on a character defining journey like no other.”
