Square Enix’s Tetsuya Nomura has teased a few juicy tidbits regarding the publishing giant’s upcoming 1st Production Department Premier press conference in early 2011.
Nomura told the chaps at Dengeki magazine (via andriasang) that the event – which previously went under the moniker of the Fabula Nova Crystallis Conference – has been rescheduled for January 18 in order to accomodate timing issues related to magazines.
Furthermore, the company has decided to shift focus from a press-centric affair to that of a fan event. Apparently, videos will be the main attraction at the Square shindig as opposed to the deluge of demos seen at last week’s Jump Festa.
As for the game line-up itself, the Final Fantasy dev commented, "In addition to the Fabula Nova Crystallis related titles, there will be Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts 3D and Dissidia Duodicim Final Fantasy."
Pressed on the subject of elusive PS3 offering Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Nomura let slip that we’ll actually hear hero Noctis speak at long last, and teased that Square has a few surprises up its sleeves to boot.
"There will be plenty in terms of information and surprises," he said.
For those of you who haven’t the foggiest idea as to what the Fabula Nova Crystallis actually is, the term refers to a series of games in the FFXIII universe, specifically FFXIII itself, along with the PS3 & PSP outings Versus XIII and Agito XIII.
Stay tuned for more info as it becomes available.
