Square Enix is the latest in a meaty line of industry heavyweights to broach the subject of PSP2, despite the fact Sony’s yet to officially lift the lid on the successor to its 62-million selling slab.
Speaking during a chinwag with VG247 regarding Lord of Arcana for PSP, producer Takamasa Shiba divulged that he’s very much looking forward to the long-rumored portable device.
"There are a lot of things I’m excited for the PSP2, but I’m more interested in hardware specifics rather than a unique feature,” he said.
"Hardware is always coming out, so the software needs to be pushing the hardware as well. So, if they put something in that’s very unique then it is hard to create games for it. As a creator, I’m looking forward to mainly hardware improvements."
PSP2 is hotly tipped for an E3 reveal this June, though Sony had better get its skates on or they’ll be nothing left to announce at this rate. Stay tuned.
