Electronic Arts’ upcoming SSX reboot is set to cruise into stores during January 2012, according to Joystiq.
Creative director Todd Batty revealed the January 2012 launch window, in addition to a few juicy gameplay details and some powdery new screenshots, at yesterday’s EA Season Opener event. Developer EA Canada has overhauled the game’s physics system, eliminating unnatural boundaries, invisible or man-made. This lack of restriction allows gamers to trick off rocks and navigate treacherous terrain. If boarders find themselves in a sticky situation in mid-air, they can employ the wing-suit — first revealed in the original SSX Deadly Descents teaser (the subtitle has since been dropped) — to glide to safety and bypass otherwise deadly terrain.
