The upcoming Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be ‘dramatically larger’ than its 2015 predecessor, Electronic Arts’ CFO, Blake Jorgensen, has said.
Speaking at the recent Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference, Jorgensen also confirmed that the sci-fi shooter follow-up will boast “a lot of new characters” plucked from the Star Wars universe, including those from the latest entry in the multi-million selling motion picture franchise.
"The Star Wars universe is just unbelievable to build games in because it’s so vast,” said Jorgensen.
As previously confirmed, Star Wars Battlefront 2 will boast a single-player campaign, something which the original game was heavily criticised by reviews and gamers alike for failing to deliver. Developer DICE has confirmed that it is aiming to address complaints with the original game, and having a dedicated single-player mode for the Star Wars Battlefront sequel is definitely a solid start in this respect. The game is currently slated to appear in fall 2017
Star Wars Battlefront was released in fall 2015 for PS4, PC, and Xbox One, and offers extensive multiplayer battles set on iconic Star Wars locations, such as Hoth and Endor, plus appearances from numerous heroes and villains from the saga including Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Han Solo, and Emperor Palpatine.
