Star Wars veteran Anthony Daniels has confirmed that he has been doing voice work for C-3PO’s appearance in the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront.
Daniels confirmed the iconic protocol droid’s inclusion in the hotly anticipated science-fiction shooter via his personal Twitter account:
“One day it’s the hilarious YODA CHRONICLES: the next, the astounding BATTLEFRONT! (Just the ying and yang of being C-3PO at the microphone).”
Daniels didn’t elaborate any further on C-3PO’s role in the game, although considering that the character isn’t exactly known for its combat prowess, one can assume the droid will take on a support role of some kind. Maybe a narrator?
Star Wars Battlefront is due out on PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One in November. Publisher Electronic Arts expects the title to ship 9-10 million copies by April 2016. Space battles will not be featured.
