As the sequel to a surprise hit in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, developer Respawn’s follow up with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor did not disappoint, and delivered what players expected.
A better game than the original that looked great, and unsurprisingly, like Fallen Order before it, Survivor had major performance issues at launch.
However thanks to the PS5 Pro, it seems like we’ll be getting the best of both worlds, as Respawn says in a PlayStation Blog post that the PS5 Pro will offer a new Performance Mode for Survivor that keeps a locked 60 FPS and now includes the ray tracing features that are removed on the base PS5.
“Our engineers have been thrilled to push the boundaries of what’s possible with the new hardware and partnering with SIE has allowed us to deliver an even more enhanced version of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for PlayStation 5 Pro,” wrote technical director at Respawn Bobby Wilkinson.
“In Quality Mode, we offer our highest-ever console resolution at 2160p. At the same time, Performance Mode continues to deliver a solid 60 fps—but now with higher resolutions and the added visual depth of ray tracing for reflections and ambient occlusion. The new PSSR upscaling ensures a sharper visual experience in both modes.”
