The creative director on Star Wars Outlaws has addressed the notoriously tricky instant-fail stealth missions, stating that Ubisoft Massive is going to release a new patch soon that will help take the sting out of them.
Speaking with GamesRadar+, Julian Gerighty acknowledged that these missions are ‘incredibly punishing’ and that the development team plans to address them soon.
So especially, I mean, you’re probably thinking of one of the early missions in Mirogana, which is incredibly punishing. And for me, that is a mistake, and this is something that we’re going to work on improving. I don’t think it means removing the fail state completely, but I do think there are millions of low hanging fruits where we can make it so much more enjoyable and understandable.

Gerighty went on to say that “we just don’t want it to feel unfair. And today, I think it feels unfair. And believe it or not, this wasn’t our intention. This is more of something that crept in in the last week or so, and that we’re correcting already for a patch that’s coming out maybe in 10 days.”
Speaking during the same interview, Gerigthy said that he was a little disappointed with the critical reception to Star Wars Outlaws, but is determined to keep improving the game going forward. Speaking of reviews, be sure to have a butcher’s PSU’s full verdict here.
