Stardew Valley Update 1.6 Set For November 4 Release On Consoles

Eric Barone, aka ConcernedApe, has revealed that the console release of Stardew Valley update 1.6 will arrive on November 4, 2024.

The single-man developer also responded to backlash regarding the staggered release of Stardew Valley updates on PC and console.

I’ve always released on PC first, because it’s sort of a “beta test” to make sure there are no critical (e.g. save-destroying) bugs, which are a much bigger deal on consoles because they can’t be patched out as quickly. However, I never intended for the delay to be this long.

Stardew Valley’s major 1.6 update was released for PC back in March and introduced a boatload of fresh content, including new festivals, a bunch of new NPC dialogue, a wealth of visual improvements — waterfalls, holiday decorations for winter, rare Sumer butterfly variants, seasonal world map variants — and much more.

Stardew Valley has been knocking around for sometime now, and back in February it was announced that the game had sold 30 million copies worldwide. Furthermore, back in July ConcernedApe assured fans that he would never charge for any updates or DLC for the game.
