IO Interactive has announced that it will be offering a gameplay deep dive for 007 First Light on September 3 during a special State of Play broadcast.
The State of Play will take place at 11.00am PST/7.00pm BST/8.00pm CEST, and will over 30 minute so gameplay on the upcoming James Bond titles including a play through of the super spy’s first mission as a M16 operative. Expect high-speed car chases, stealth sequences, and of course plenty of shootouts.

007 First Light is currently in development for PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X/S, with a release set for next year. The game focuses on the earlier years of the British spy, weaving an origins story that showcases him on a mission to gain his license to kill. As a result, players will be stepping into the shoes of a 26-year-old Bond, and will expect to brush shoulders with iconic characters including M, Q, and Miss Moneypenny. IO Interactive has revealed it took inspiration from Ian Flemings novels and short stories for the game’s narrative.
Crucially, 007 First Light is the first major James Bond game to be released since 2012’s 007 Legends, which depicted numerous key events from the franchise as flashbacks while Bond himself is injured and being shot and falling into a river during the opening of Skyfall.
