Shift Up has revealed that development of its Stellar Blade sequel is ‘progressing smoothly,’ and is currently on track to meet its quality standards.
As picked up by X user Genki_JPN, more details on Stellar Blade 2 are set to be revealed within the year.
Stellar Blade was released for the PS5 in April 2024 and hit the PC in June 2025. On Steam, Stellar Blade achieved more than 100,000 concurrent users, making it one of the most successful PlayStation to PC ports released to date. Shift Up revealed in June 2025 that the game has sold more than three million copies across both formats.
This latest development follows comments from Hyung-Tae Kim, CEO of Shift Up, during an interview with 4Gamers last month, where the executive stated that Stellar Blade 2 won’t be properly revealed until it has reached a “satisfactory quality.”
Back in January it was revealed that Shift Up had gifted its staff a cash bonus and other items, with employees receiving $3,400 plus an Apple Watch and AirPod Max each. The previous year also saw the developer reward its staff with a PS5 Pro and $3,400 cash bonus.
