PlayStation has always liked to release multiple different colours and variations for their controllers, and the PS5’s own DualSense controllers are no different.
On Friday, the latest colour for both the DualSense and the PS5 console covers was finally made available on PlayStation Direct, with the Sterling Silver variant now available.
This release closes out the release of what PlayStation calls the Deep Earth Collection of colours, after the Volcanic Red and Cobalt Blue were first release in November last year.
Each of the options in the Deep Earth Collection are great choices if you’ve been waiting for a DualSense colour with a bit more vibrancy to it.

The new Cobalt Blue and Volcanic Red definitely ‘pop’ far more than the previous Starlight Blue and Cosmic Red colours, and in the case of Sterling Silver, it’s the fullest proper silver colourway for the DualSense controller.
As it stands, in the last three years and a few months since the PS5 launched, Sony has only released 10 different colours for the DualSense and the console covers, including the Original White, not counting special edition controllers.
Hopefully we begin to see more different standard colours, or finally the invention of a custom option, similar to how Xbox has the Design Lab for its controllers.
