Jukai Studio and Versus Evil have announced that Akira Yamaoka, the composer behind the Silent Hill series, is working on the music for psychological horror title Stray Souls.
Yamaoka-san was responsible for some of the most iconic music in Konami’s seminal horror franchise, including the ‘Theme of Laura’ from Silent Hill 2, and is also involved in Bloober Team’s upcoming remake of that title.
Stray Souls is inspired by various classic titles in the horror genre, and sees players assuming the role of Daniel, an average teenager who finds his life changed forever after inheriting the home of his estranged grandmother.
After meeting a mysterious woman with comprehensive knowledge of Daniel’s family and the house, things spiral out of control and you’re forced into a terrifying world packed with gruesome creatures, brain-aching puzzles, and bone-chilling family secrets.
Experience sheer terror like never before with the raw combined power of the Unreal Engine 5 and MetaHuman technology. Advanced facial animations capture a wide range of human emotion, creating a whole new level of photorealism! Dynamic lighting and weather bring Aspen Falls to life in eerie detail, from the peeling wallpaper of Grandma’s house to the dense reaches of a fog-covered forest and beyond!
Stray Souls is scheduled for release on PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One in Fall 2023l
